SinaiFree Film Society Discussion of "Denial"

19 Mar @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm

The SinaiFree Film Society will discuss “Denial.”

March is Women’s History Month. We will celebrate Deborah Lipstadt, Professor of Modern Jewish History and Holocaust Studies at Emory University and President Biden’s United States Special Envoy for Monitoring and Combating Anti-Semitism. In 1996, author David Irving sued Lipstadt and her publisher Penguin Books for libel in an English court on the grounds that her book Denying the Holocaust had ruined his once well-regarded career as an historian by accusing him of deliberately distorting historical facts. By British law, the onus was on her legal team to prove that the Holocaust actually took place. This 2016 film is a dramatization of the true story.

“Denial” is available for free on Kanopy and Hoopla. It can be rented for $3.59 from Amazon Prime, and $3.99 from Apple TV, Google Play and Fandango at Home. It can also be found by subscription on Cinemax, The Roku Channel, YouTube and fubo TV. There are 10 DVDs in the Westchester Library System, and 15 in the New York Public Library.
