What are Shabbat services like at SFS?

Our Friday night services are participatory. Guests are invited to join in the prayers and sing along with us, as much as they are comfortable. Our Rabbi guides us through the service, the prayer book readings are in English, Hebrew, and transliterated Hebrew, so most people can follow along easily, even those unfamiliar with Hebrew. Our Cantor leads us in song, and even if you “don’t sing,” you will find our service music contagious.

Sinai Free Synagogue primarily serves the surrounding communities of lower Westchester including Pelham, New Rochelle, Bronxville, Tuckahoe, Crestwood, Eastchester, and Yonkers, as well as the Bronx, although some members come from further away, especially now that so many of our services and events are virtual.
I would like to make a donation; how do I do that?

How do I pay my bill?

Make a payment now using our online form »

Once in the form, select “Payment” then check the appropriate box to specify the payment type. Don’t see your payment type? Check the “Other” box, then a text field will appear where you can specify how you’d like us to use your payment.

You can always access our online payment form via our website’s main navigation menu by hovering over “Donate” then clicking on “Make a Payment” from the sub menu.

COVID, Flu and Infectious Diseases

Are services being held virtually or in person?
Is the Sinai Free Synagogue building open?
Is masking required if I have been vaccinated?

We follow NY State DOH and CDC guidelines and the advice of the medical professionals on our COVID Task Force. The clergy and leadership will determine masking requirements based on conditions at the time and their assessment of the best interests of the congregation as a whole. We encourage the use of N95 and KN95 masks and have them available at all in-person events.

What are the synagogue's overall COVID, Flu and Infectious Disease protocols?

As of December 2, 2022 here are the protocols that Sinai Free Synagogue is following for in-person services and events. Our clergy and lay leadership have been given discretion in implementing these protocols, whenever reasonable. As circumstances change with the pandemic, these protocols will be updated if necessary.
