Our glimmers of understanding shatter, releasing cascades of creative energy.  In the recesses of our hearts and minds, Kabbalists and physicists conjure a radiance that transcends space and time.   Such is our politics; such is our emotional and spiritual life: translucent shells of light and dark.  Like dervishes we whirl about a central mystery, turning over the problem of what can and cannot be.  Dare we hope?  Can we harness our fire while mustering the cool tranquilities of acceptance?  Can we keep our balance dancing on the edge of the abyss?
