The SinaiFree Film Society will discuss “Alan & Naomi.”
It is 1944 when Naomi, a refugee child from Nazi-occupied Paris who acts ‘crazy,’ moves into 14-year-old Alan Silverman’s building in Brooklyn. He does his best to avoid her but when he learns that she has been catatonic since witnessing her father’s murder by the Nazis, he acquiesces to his parents’ urging to help her emerge from her withdrawal. Alan’s well-meaning efforts at first seem to do more harm than good. But eventually the boy’s sincerity and hitherto untapped compassion win out.
The film can be streamed for free on Tubi and Shout Factory TV. Both have ads, but registration is not required on either.
